MEF (Ministry of Economy and Finance) Challenge

Implement a flexible computer system that improves and enhances the work of the National Budget Unit in the preparation and analysis of the base information for the determination of the budgetary framework and monitoring its execution.

Solution

Implementation of a Budgetary and Financial Information System. The tool Cognos TM1 and Report Studio was implemented, in order to improve the efficiency in the management of public expenditure.

Benefits

  • Simplified and reduced the time consumed in the construction of the information for the Rendering of Accounts, by the use of self-managed and automatic table. Data from different sources can be loaded.
  • The use of multiple forms was reduced, centralizing information in a single consultation site.
  • It allows consulting and distributing of information to different paragraphs in a timely, reliable and secure manner.
  • It improved the process of analyzing budget data through different visualizations such as: type of expenses, objects of expenditure, sources of financing, categories, among others.
  • It allows users make projections based on variables they define.
