Challenge

During the pandemic, the Ministry of Health required integrated and reliable data to analyze vaccine effectiveness and support epidemiological decisions.

Information was dispersed across systems and institutions, hindering unified analytics, quality control, and the generation of consistent indicators.

Solution

A Big Data platform was developed to integrate multiple sources such as SG-DEVISA, SIV, SAE, INE, Vital Statistics, and RUCAF.

It enabled quality checks, key indicator generation, and visualization through dashboards, maps, cubes, and reports. The solution was implemented with Salud.uy, MSP, and CHLAEP.

Benefits

The value behind the solution.

Unified and governed access to health data

The platform centralizes critical information in a national Data Lake, enabling consistent, reliable, and accessible analytics across all participating institutions.

Real-time public health monitoring

It enables continuous evaluation of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination effectiveness, supporting evidence-based decisions and faster responses to epidemiological changes.

Interoperability across key organizations

It integrates data from multiple institutions (MoH, Salud.uy, AGESIC, healthcare providers) to coordinate strategies, policies, and public health actions with greater accuracy and impact.

Our methodology

A collaborative methodology was applied, integrating teams from Salud.uy, MSP, and specialized institutions.
