Last April 26th, Quanam held an exclusive breakfast to present Modeling Solutions with SPSS, which was attended by more than 20 participants, technicians, analysts, teachers, users- in representation of public and private organizations of Uruguay.
Consultant Ivete de Barros, Ms Statistician, made the presentation showing several experiences applying some functionalities of IBM SPSS statistic software modules, widely known as Nearest Neighbor Analysis and Geospatial Modelling.
Nearest Neighbor analysis is a method for classifying cases based on their similarity to other cases, using the automatic learning technique to recognize data patterns. Geospatial Analysis, uses data or information that identifies the location of geographic features. Geospatial data sources include GPS - Global Positioning System and Remote Sensing. Spatial modeling predicts the spatial distribution of events.
This is the second meeting held to focus on this subject, in order to have deeper knowledge of this tool’s features. These reunions are also extremely useful to identify first handedly, the difficulties that currently occur in the management of huge volumes of data, share experiences from projects already undertaken by Quanam, and apply the knowledge acquired, tailored to the specific case of each organization.
