GenLives and Quanam develop innovation in accuracy medicine. Startup GenLives was selected to represent Uruguay at the third Seedstars World Summit, in April 2018. The company was founded by Lucía Spangenberg, a specialist in genomic studies.
GenLives is a company which aims at making genomic medicine more accessible to medical doctors and the general public.
By means of an on-line platform, a doctor requests a genomic test for a patient. Services include sequencing of the complete genome, complete exome or panels with genes and selected genes, further bioninformatic and biomedical analysis of these data as well as advice on genomics for the doctor in charge of the case, throughout the process. GenLives is a start-up, incubated at Institute Pasteur of Montevideo, which takes part of BIOSPINN program (ANII /National Agency for Research and Innovation/incubation program run in the institute).
ICT4V is Quanam’s structural partner for the development of a platform to analyse the results gathered from a massive data base of information on mutations. The working group specialized in Big Data are developing innovation in accuracy medicine.
Quanam is fully convinced and certain about the success of this new practice and area of knowledge which will definitely will improve human life.
